Thalassemia Fundraising Event at Nehru Center, Worli
In June 2012, Nehru Center, Worli hosted a fundraising event to support Thalassemia treatment and research. The event included auctions, educational sessions, patient testimonials, medical consultations, cultural performances, networking opportunities, and aimed to raise awareness and funds for Thalassemia initiatives.
Fundraising Activities: Raise funds through auctions, donations, and sponsorships for Thalassemia treatment and research.
Awareness Campaign: Educate attendees about Thalassemia’s causes, symptoms, and management.
Community Engagement: Provide support through patient stories, medical consultations, cultural performances, and networking opportunities
Thalassemia Screening Event for Doctors and Staff Nurses - January 2012
K. J. Somaiya Hospitals organized a Thalassemia screening event to:
- Educate healthcare professionals about Thalassemia and its genetic implications.
- Offer screening tests to identify carriers among doctors and staff nurses.
- Conduct workshops to deepen understanding and promote community engagement in Thalassemia care.
The event aimed to enhance awareness, improve early detection, and foster informed healthcare practices among hospital staff.
Thalassaemia profile check up
Our main event is by annually Thalassaemia profile check up for all of 90 Thalassaemia major patients with St. George hospital regional blood bank Thalassaemia ward department (vity) Mumbai-1, get together once in a year with recreation and some pleasantry exchange.
Beside our upcoming events are Thalassaemia check up camps with south region police control room only for their lady officer’s of highrank comprising approx 100 of 18 police stations along with Nagapada south region, Mumbai-8 as well as conducting similar check up camps for Ashwini (defence hospital, Colaba Mumbai-5) for their Medical and Paramedical staff on campus.
